Nielsens Beach (our surfing beach), and Kellys Beach
with the Basin swimming area, a man-made rock

and Kellys Beaches during summer.

Take a short drive to picturesque Elliott Heads, Coral Cove
International Resort and Golf Course, relaxing Innes Park
then through fields of sugar cane (our major crop) onto
Mon Repos then Burnett Heads at the mouth of the Burnett
River. At nearby Bundaberg Port Marina enjoy a delightful
lunch overlooking the yachts and marina. From there travel
to Moore Park with its expanse of sandy beach.

The thriving regional city of Bundaberg is just 10 minutes
from anywhere on the Coral Coast. The City is host for many
attractions such as Bundaberg Rum Distillery, Bundaberg
Brewed Drinks, Schmeiders Cooperage, Bundaberg Arts Centre,

There are two 18 hole Gold courses along the Coral Coast.
The Bargara Golf Club is right in the centre of Bargara

Local fishing spots at Bargara
Visit one of our farm direct road side stalls to pick up
fresh local produce. Treat yourself to a Strawberry Sundae
at the Strawberry Farm or sample a local drop at one of
our local wineries. Fresh seafood is a region speciality
with ocean direct seafood available year round
THE
WORLD FAMOUS BUNDABERG RUM has its home in Bundaberg with
Distillery Tours available daily. Dont miss the also
famous Bundaberg Brewed Ginger Beer factory and factory
outlet, where you can pick up some unique local softdrink
specialties. A visit to Jakes Candy outlet shop is also
a must.
This dormant volcanic cinder cone dates back some1, 060,000
years and is the mother of our spectacular rocky coral coastline
and rich red soil canefields. The first recorded sighting
of the sloping hummock was by one of Englands
greatest navigators Lieutenant Matthew Flinders RN in his
1799 survey whilst sailing off our coastline in the HMS
Investigator. Its a great spot for some panoramic
views of the area or to watch our majestic cane fires at
night. (Cane crushing season is Dec to September, please
watch for cane trains during this time.)

For the Scuba Dive or Snorkelling enthusiast, the area abounds
in amazing dive sites right along our coastline. From Hoffmans
Rocks to Barolin Point or anywhere in between to the magnificent
Coral Cays of Lady Musgrave and Lady Elliot , this is the
Great Barrier Reef at its best. Take a Day Cruise

Our region abounds in Natures Wonders
Marvel at the
majestic Humpback Whales as they make their way along our
coastline (July Oct). For up close and personal WHALE
WATCHING CRUISES local tour companies offer day trips to
Hervey Bay. Whales and dolphins can also be spotted from
Coral Coast headlands, just pull up a patch of grass and
gaze out to sea. Be amazed and experience nesting Turtles
(Nov-Jan) or emerging turtle hatchlings (Jan-Mar). MON REPOS
is Australia largest mainland TURTLE ROOKERY and is the
most significant loggerhead turtle nesting population in
the South Pacific Ocean region.
The region is surrounded by marine and national parks
Mon Repos Conversation Park, Deepwater and Round Hill National
Parks, Eurimbula National Park, Goodnight Scrub National
Park, Kinkuna section of the Burrum Coast National Park
to name few.

Within a short drive visit Beautiful Woodgate Beach, the
Whale Watching capital of Hervey Bay, Fraser Island the
Worlds largest sand Island, Childers - Home of the Annual
Multicultural Festival, or historic towns of Maryborough,
Gin Gin or the Town of 1770.
